EEOC- Abbreviation of the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The EEOC's main office is in Washington, D.C., but the EEOC also has "regional" offices in many other cities. The EEOC enforces federal laws against discrimination in employment.

NLRB- Abbreviation of the federal National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB's main office is in Washington, D.C., but the NLRB also has "regional" offices in many other cities. The NLRB enforces federal laws governing labor relations between employers and unions and union workers.

labor union- A group of employees who organize in order to further their common interests as employees.

OSHA- Abbreviation of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the government agency that enforces federal laws requiring safety standards in the workplace.

union - A group of employees who organize in order to further their common interests as employees. Also known as a "labor union".

union contract - A contract between a union and an employer that covers the union workers' wages, working conditions, and procedures for complaining about problems on the job. Also known as a "collective bargaining agreement" or "CBA".
